NeoGraft Procedure Overview
Hair transplantation is the surgical restoration of hair by taking hair from a donor site and inserting it into a recipient site. Initially developed in the 1950s, the “strip” method or FUT (follicular unit transplantation) was and still is the most commonly performed method for hair transplantation. Developments in technology have evolved hair transplantation into today’s exciting and permanent way of restoring hair. It is clearly the “Gold Standard” of hair restoration.
Introduced in the nineties, FUE (follicular unit extraction) is the newest and most advance method of hair transplantation. The FUE technique is the most beneficial, however nuisances associated with this technique deterred physicians from offering the procedure. Prior to the NeoGraft procedure, doing FUE was very tedious and time consuming, making the procedure too expensive for most patients. It was also difficult to learn as there is a high transection rate of the follicles. Lastly the manual technique required doctors to extract the follicles with forceps, which can damage them. These obstacles cause doctors to opt for a more invasive and faster procedure called the “strip” technique or FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) surgery.
The NeoGraft method combines the most effective hair transplantation technique called FUE (follicular unit extraction) with a hair transplant machine that speeds up both the treatment and recovery.

How Does it Work?
The NeoGraft device features a mechanized punch that rotates around all of the individual grafts. The rotation can be adjusted to precise specifications and is able to accommodate for a variety of skin types. The device uses suction to uniformly slide out follicles. There isn’t any twisting or pulling, which can damage the follicle. There’s a variety of benefits to the procedure, including the following:
- The least invasive procedure of its kind
- There is no scalpel incision, no sutures, no linear scar
- Treat large areas in a single session
- Offers the fastest recovery time
- Reduced FUE transplant time
- Reduced cost of FUE transplant time versus manual FUE treatment time
- Grafts extracted by the NeoGraft medical device are of excellent quality and remain moist unlike those extracted from the “strip” method
- With the NeoGraft procedure there is less bleeding and fewer complication versus the “strip” method
